Let me welcome you warmly in the Military Recreation Facility (hereinafter „the Facility“) Ovčárna pod Pradědem, in the name of the managing director of Vojenská lázeňská a rekreační zařízení (Military Spa and Recreation Facilities) (hereinafter VLRZ), in my own name, as well as in the name of all staff members of our Facility. In case you have any requests, wishes, problems, or questions do not hesitate to contact our reception or turn directly to me.

  1. C C O M M O D A T I O N      R U L E S

The Military Recreation Facility Ovčárna is situated in the close proximity to Praděd – the highest mountain of Moravia - 1492 m. Ovčárna (Shepherd’s House in English) counts among the oldest mountain buildings in the Jeseníky Mountains.  Its name suggests that its rich and eventful history goes back to the times when cattle and sheep were grazing on the hills of the Jeseníky Mountains.

The whole area at the altitude of more than 1250 m had been almost bare or covered with
a sparse forests only, in the past (today’s mountain dwarf pines were planted at the beginning of the 20th century). Therefore, vast grassy areas were used for pasture probably as early as at the beginning of the 18th century. At the highest parts, as many as 300 head of cattle were grazing, at first young bullocks, later sheep. Importing wool from Australia and also the Great of damaging the forests lead to gradual decline in pasturage here, in the second half of the 19th century.

In 1863, so called „Nová Ovčárna“ (New Shepherd’s House) was built, a relatively well equipped chalet for that time. Thanks to its location under the gloomy rocks called „Petrovy kameny“ (Peter’s Stones) that have been associated with legends about witches‘ sabbaths since ancient times, the view of the peak of Praděd, and the vicinity of the Karlova Studánka spa, the chalet became more and more popular among mountains visitors.

The military recreation facility with a year-round operation is situated in an enchanting environment of the Jeseníky Mountains at an altitude of 1300 m above the sea level and at the crossing of cross-country skiing tracks and hiking routes connecting the best known places of the Jeseníky Mountains - Praděd, Petrovy kameny, Skřítek and Červenohorské sedlo.

In summer, there are very good conditions for trekking and cycling, in winter ideal terrain for downhill and cross-country skiing for both beginners and advanced skiers, here. At the hotel, you can visit and enjoy our wellness centre offering the use of fitness, gyms, solarium, massage, dry carbonic bath, parafango procedure, sauna, whirlpool, swimming pool with
a counter flow, and relaxation areas.

  1. INFORMATION FOR THE HOTEL GUESTS STAY

Guest rooms are fully equipped with standard hotel inventory. When entering the room, please, check the room for possible defects. Any defects should be reported to the reception or to the chambermaid. All hotel rooms are non-smoking.

Ovčárna Hotel can only accommodate a guest who is properly logged in and who has paid for the stay in advance or on arrival. Standard accommodation is available from 2:00 PM.

Please present your identity card or passport to the receptionist upon arrival at the hotel. At the reception you will receive a hotel guest card, which is also a catering card. You will show this card when you arrive at the Ovčárna Hotel, during the dispensing of your meals, when collecting your keys and for using additional services.

In accordance with the Decree of the Municipality of Malá Morávka, guests are required to pay a local spa fee of CZK 15 per person per night upon arrival at the Ovčárna Hotel. Persons under 18 years of age, students up to 26 years of age (persons who receive child-raising allowances), persons over 70 and holders of ZTP / P card and their guides are excluded from this obligation. The fee is also exempted from persons staying here for
a purpose other than a spa or recreational stay (for example, preventive rehabilitation soldiers).

Accommodation and services can be paid using payment cards (VISA, VISA Electron, MasterCard Electronic, JCB Cards, Diners Club International, American Express, and Maestro).

Between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, please, keep silence of the night

in all areas of the Facility and be considerate of other guests.

Receiving visitors is possible at the reception and at the café. Visitorsin the hotel room may be permitted by the Facility managing director or Deputy director, till 10:00 PM only.

Accommodation of pets (a cat or a dog – small breeds) must be permitted by the hotel managing director and is subject to payment of a fee as defined in a valid price list. Pets are not allowed to enter the restaurant and the wellness centre.

A children's corner is available at the hotel, which is open until 8:00 PM. Children have to be accompanied by their parents in the children's corner. Keys from the children's corner are available at the reception.

Apart from you, the room may be entered only by the chambermaid at the time of cleaning and by a hotel employee eliminating a defect or making a Check.

When leaving the room, please make sure that windows are closed, lights, TV and water taps turned off.

Accommodation is only allowed to persons who are not affected by infectious diseases. In the event that such a disease occurs at the client during his / her stay at the accommodation facility, the client is obliged to report this fact immediately to the reception of the facility or, depending on the case, to the manager of the facility or his / her representative.

Please keep the smoking ban in the whole premises of the Facility. Smoking is allowed in designated areas only, i.e. in front of the hotel entrance and in front of the restaurant entrance. A fine of CZK 2,000 will be charged for violating the ban immediately upon its discovery. Payment for this violation will be made at the reception, either in cash or by credit card.

In the event of a repeated serious violation of the Accommodation Rules, a financial penalty may be imposed on the offender and his / her stay will be terminated without any refund.

It is not allowed to move the inventory or intervene in the building in the hotel room or in the meeting rooms and technical parts and equipment of the building. It is also not allowed to use your own electrical appliances, except shaving or massage machines, hair dryers, PCs, tablets, mobile phone chargers, etc.

Each time you leave the hotel building, please, leave the key at the reception. In case of losing the key, you will be charged an amount according to the valid price list. When picking up the keys, please show your hotel card at the reception.

The list of available TV stations is placed in your room.

The main entrance of the hotel building is locked between 11:00 PM and 06:00 AM. During this time, you can enter the hotel with the help of the receptionist. The client’s hotel card serves for entering the hotel and providing your room keys.

In the case of a client's accident during his stay at the accommodation facility, the client is obliged to notify this fact at the reception of the facility or, depending on the nature of the matter, to the accommodation manager or his / her representative at the latest on the day of his / her stay.

On the last day of the stay, the hotel room shall be vacated until 10:00 AM at the latest, otherwise the guest shall be charged an additional accommodation day according to the valid price list.

In case you arrive by car, use the parking space in the premises of the Facility for parking the car – parking is subject to a fee according to the valid price list. The said space is not
a supervised parking place. Please, take all valuables out of the car and lock the car properly. The Facility is not responsible for any damages (damage, burglary, car theft, damage caused by falling ice etc.). Please, adhere to the speed limit of 20 km/h within the whole premises of the Facility.

All areas of the Ovcarna Hotel are forbidden to enter with weapons and ammunition.

In case of a fire signal, follow the receptionist‘s instructions and the fire regulations that are located in the hotel rooms and corridors. Fire alarm is positioned at the front desk. Fire alarm in case of fire itself warns the receptionist, who then checks the area and eventually calls firefighters and announces evacuation. Our staff is properly trained for these cases.

 

In order to protect people, property and guests, a camera system is installed in the hotel premises in accordance with applicable laws and internal normative acts. Because of possible theft and theft of valuables before leaving the rooms, close the windows and lock the front door.

 

Small refreshment, personal hygiene items, sporting equipment, and souvenirs can be bought at the reception. Please note that alcoholic beverages are sold at the reception till 10:30 PM only.

 

The seller is obliged to issue a receipt for you at the reception, in the wellness, in the restaurant and in the dining room.

  1. MEALS

Meals are served in the restaurant and in Café. The schedule for serving breakfast, lunch and dinner is given in point III. e) of these Accommodation Rules.

Guests can choose from a selection of lunch and dinner meals. Breakfasts are served in the form of buffet.

Guests taking part in excursions, whether organized or self-catering, can book a cold package in advance. The procedure for ordering packages is posted on the bulletin board in front of the restaurant.

To receive a meal, the guest is entitled to show a Hotel Card to the service upon arrival at the restaurant.

You can discuss your wishes, comments, or questions about meals with the staff or the hotel's catering department manager.

Please do not enter the dining room at night or sportswear. Only enter in suitable clothing (the length of the trousers must reach below the knees) and please do not bring out the dining utensils, cutlery, glasses and food from the dining room. Also, do not pour drinks for breakfast to the bottles you bring. Please follow the specified time of servis food.

Café serves refreshments for guests and the public. Café offers a wide range of drinks and meals according to the beverage list and menu. Café is open from 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM.

At the reception and information center we will be happy to provide you with information about cultural and social activities in the Jeseníky and the nearest surroundings.

    1. Sport activities:

A wide range of sporting activities is available for hotel guests. Tourist trips to the surroundings or cycling in good weather. The program officer will gladly introduce you to the trips. Tourist information tips are available in our touch screen, which is on the pillar in the reception hall. The rented sport material is returned no later than one day before departure.

The wellness center can be used all year round for a fee. Price list of services is posted at the hotel reception, opening hours are at the entrance to the hotel wellness center.

Small injuries will be treated at the reception where basic first-aid kitis available. More serious injuries shall be reported to the reception or, as the case may be, to the Mountain Rescue Service where you will be provided transport to the nearest emergency health service.
